CORAMODI

Technique: Handmade engraved lacquered platter in "rayado" technique from Olinalá. The "rayado" technique, meaning scratched, has its name from the use of an agave thorn or quill (usually goose feather) to etch the designs. A first coat is applied to the wooden piece then dried completely. A second coat is then applied and while still wet, this layer is removed in places to reveal the first color and create lace-like designs.
Material: traditional natural lacquer on wood.
Dimensions: 48 cm x 31 cm
