White decorative gourd
ONORA
DETAILS
Hand-painted and gold-plated decorative "guaje", typical fruit from Mexico, made in the Estado de Guerrero. It's decorative nature has made the guaje an important mexican artisanal work, variating from community to community.
“Guajes” were used by ancient communities to carry fresh beverages. Today, these are made exclusively for Onora in the village of Temalacatzingo. The fruits are emptied of their flesh and dried in the sun. They are then covered with layers of artisanal lacquer and guilded in gold leaf. With a strong passion for Mexico’s rich cultural luggage, each piece anchors itself in a constant search for a balance between traditions and their adaptation to trendled interior design
